Community Update
In our last Economic Development Community Update, we discussed decreasing COVID-19 numbers and the opportunity1 we, as a community, have in rebuilding our community and economy stronger than ever before. We reviewed a World Economic Forum article titled "Rebuilding after COVID-19 shouldn't mean going back to how things were,"2 which outlined how a new normal could look.

Many Cathedral City Households Could Get Up to $50 in Monthly Credit for Spectrum Internet
Charter Communications, Inc., which serves Cathedral City, announced its participation in the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) $3.2 billion Emergency Broadband Benefit Program, part of the company’s ongoing commitment to help close the digital divide. You may be eligible for a credit up to $50 per month (up to $75 for households on Tribal Lands) toward qualifying Spectrum Internet plans for the duration of the program.
Restaurant Revitalization Fund
The Small Business Administration has begun accepting applications for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund. The application portal will remain open to any eligible establishment until all funds are exhausted.

The New Cathedral City Grocery Outlet, located at 30025 Date Palm Dr, will be having a Job Fair on Saturday, May 8th at Panorama Park in Cathedral City.
Restaurants, Bars, Bakeries, Food Trucks, and Caterers Can Apply for New Federal Relief Funds
The American Rescue Plan Act established the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) to provide funding to help restaurants and other eligible businesses keep their doors open. This program will provide restaurants with funding equal to their pandemic-related revenue loss up to $10 million per business and no more than $5 million per physical location.
Cathedral City Is Hiring an Administrative Analyst
The City of Cathedral City has announced a new job opening for a full-time position and seeks qualified applicants. The position available is for an Administrative analyst. Besides salary, the position also provides health insurance, pension, educational reimbursement, paid vacation days, and other incentives.
