What’s Developing Within Economic Development:

Today is a great day to be a Cathedral City resident!

Los Arcos Mexican Food reopens in the Pickford Promenade.

On Tuesday, Los Arcos Mexican Restaurant celebrated the Grand Re-opening of their Yelp rated 4.5-star restaurant. Located on the northwest corner of Monty Hall Drive and East Palm Canyon in the Pickford Promenade, their restaurant is an easy walk to the Pickford Movie Theater, The Roost, and the AMP sports lounge. Los Arcos offers authentic Mexican cuisine using generations-old recipes. If you enjoy guacamole, they make the guacamole right at your table and season it to your liking. Personally, my family and I LOVE their guacamole.

For those who enjoy a classic American diner, residents in District Five have a lot to look forward to. Denny’s Restaurant has submitted plans for an attractive mid-century designed restaurant which will be located on the northwest corner of Landau Blvd and Vista Chino.  While the project is likely 18 months away from opening, this new restaurant will be a great addition to the Plaza Rio Vista.

If gourmet dining and hand-crafted dishes is your thing, Daniel’s Table held a ribbon-cutting on their new restaurant located in the Revival’s shopping center today. Chef Daniel creates each dish by hand, and impeccably pairs said dishes with sides and wine recommendations that will meet or exceed even the highest expectations.

In terms of other exciting news within our Downtown Cathedral City Arts and Entertainment District, construction on our Cathedral City Community Amphitheater is in full swing. There will be numerous open lawn areas, a children’s play area, shade trees, restrooms, and permanent stage. Scheduled to be finished in Fall 2019, Chris Parman, our Events and Communications Manager is already planning events to celebrate and make the most of the new space.

If you have driven through the Cathedral City Auto Center lately, you have seen a construction fence go up, and dirt being moved on what will become Shottenkirk Desert Lexus’s new home. Greg Shottenkirk is investing $23m in this new facility. This new building will allow Greg and his team to provide anyone shopping for a new Lexus or any make/model used car great choices, top-quality service and support.

All Cathedral City residents can help make our City more vibrant by “buying local” whenever possible and encouraging out-of-town guests to stay in one of our several hotels.  It makes economic “cents” for you to keep your tax dollars within the City and help fund local community services and programs.  Furthermore, there is no better testimonial for attracting future new businesses than to make sure that our existing businesses are prosperous examples for other potentially interested enterprises to follow.

Also, we need your commitment to properly maintain your residential and commercial properties. Routine maintenance shows others the respect and appreciation we value for ourselves, our neighbors, and our community.  Property appearance is an important “selling point” when prospective homebuyers, businesses owners, and developers tour our City looking for the “perfect” location.

Please share with your friends and contacts the City’s dedicated websites, www.DiscoverCathedralCity.com and www.ccedd.org, which highlights many of our community attributes.  As a team, we all play a part in the long-term success of the place in which we love to live, work, play and stay!
