Project Description:
“Rio Vista Village”, which was rebranded as “Verano” is a 1,362-unit master planned community located in the City of Cathedral City, CA. Amenities include a three acre recreation facility featuring pools and spas and a large clubhouse, several acres of open park space, a commercial high density multi-family site, and the award winning K- 5 Rio Vista Elementary School. The specific plan (SP 97-55) governing the development of Rio Vista Village was approved in December 1997. The initial construction of the community began in late 1999 by the original Master Developer who completed most of the backbone infrastructure in the first phases of the master plan. The Master Developer and their successors had financial challenges which culminated in abandonment of the project due to deteriorating market conditions in the late 2000’s when construction activity ceased. iCom has painstakingly assembled the majority of the master plan parcels and has stabilized, maintained and provided security measures for the project in preparation for re-launching of homebuilding activity within the master plan in 2015.
