Project Description

This 13.5 acres is on the road to becoming the next exciting mixed-use development within the Downtown Arts and Entertainment District. Developers are currently working on plans to create: (i) a lifestyle retail center (S.W.C. of Date Palm Drive and East Palm Canyon); (ii) a 100-room nationally branded hotel (SWC of Van Fleet and East Palm Canyon); and (iii) discussions are underway for an attached/moderate density residential development on the balance of the site (NEC of “D” Street and Van Fleet Street).

This development enhances the excitement and energy of Cathedral City’s Downtown Arts and Entertainment District. With the Agua Caliente Tribe moving forward on the development of their 125,000 square foot gaming casino (NWC of Date Palm Drive and East Palm Canyon); CV Repertory Theater’s acquisition and rehabilitation of the former IMAX movie theater (NWC of Cathedral Canyon and East Palm Canyon), the City’s construction of a $3m outdoor amphitheater (NWC of Lalo Guererro and Cathedral Canyon Drive), and last, but not least, the $2m enhancement of the luxury Mary Pickford Movie Theater (home to the Palm Springs Film Festival), Cathedral City’s Downtown is growing by leaps and bounds.
